I'm from Sydney Australia and in my experience if you don't tell the doctor you're seeing exactly what you want done/checked, it won't get done! I had already asked my GP to refer me for a hormonal test prior to my gyne surgery but he sent me for a normal blood test only which shows testoserone levels .. not a thorough test.

So I am going to get a referral for an  endo now and want to be able to tell the endo which tests are required etc as I don't want him/her doing some standard test that won't give me the full picture.

What precisely should I ask for ?

The list provided may seem excessive, but not really.

It is important to realize that the if the hormones are likened to musical instruments, They do not play solo parts but are members of a full orchestra. Accordingly, the individual results are less important that how they relate to each other.

Good Luck!
