I'm getting my surgery in a week and I'm starting to get really really nervous and scared, but at the same time excited.
I've been put under before, but not because of the need of surgery (it was due to quite severe pain hehe).

Where I live there aren't any gynecomastia specialists, and I didn't hear anything about my surgeon's expertise in the area of gynecomastia, so I was a bit worried. However, he is apparently one of the best in the area of female boob jobs and nose jobs. I called him though, cause I was worried he didn't have any experience from gynecomastia surgery.
He said he'd done a couple of hundred gynecomastia surgeries before and the clinic is very renowned. He is doing lipo + gland removal from the nipple. This settled my nerves a bit.
Just wanted to share my worries, haha. Thanks for reading.

Did you see before and after pics? How much are you paying and where are you at?

I didn't see any before and after pics. I'm paying around 3500 euro. I'm having the surgery in Sweden.
Maybe I should mail them and ask for some? Allthough, my surgeon felt really confident and there was no hesitation when I consulted him. Felt like he knew what he was talking about.

Try to get some before and afters. Maybe a patient who had surgery. I pray it comes out good cause it can get bad if it isn't done right. I know a great surgeon in California named kapoor in Beverly hills. He's great and charges around 6 grand. It's a little more but worth it. Check out his Web site. Look up Beverly Hills plastic surgeon kapoor on Google and look at the pics. Please be careful.

It's your body and your money...ask questions specifically about your procedure and  get pics if at all possible.

I saw a board certified well regarded PS who had a great reputations for breast implants and mommy makeovers. He acted like gyno was no problem at all. When I asked him about numbers, he said 'oh about a billion' in a blow off borderline condescending tone.

My results were nowhere near what I expected.  I kicked myself for not pushing him for more details about gynecomastia surgeries he did.  I ended up getting a revision by a second doctor who specialized in it. He talked about his experience with the procedure at length, showed pics and the results were night and day.

Not saying your experience will be the same. But I learned an expensive lesson about doing my homework up front.

I'm also about a week from my surgery (Feb 11th) and getting nervous and scared.
I'm however more concerned for the recovery and hiding the surgery to other people rather then the surgery itself.

Anyway good luck!!

Well, there aren't really any specialists in Sweden regarding gynecomastia. However, I've only heard good things about my doctor, and he is very very experienced as a plastic surgeon. I saw someone posting about my surgeon specifically on these forums, telling he was a competent guy, so I guess I'll have to put my faith in him. I've asked the clinic for pics, so I guess I'll have to wait.
Don't know what to do really. I seriously want the surgery done, I've been looking forward to it for so long now.
