I believe the quality of our life depends on who we are and what we do regardless of our gyne. for instance, if you could not approach to that girl last time, you will not go talk to her next time after the surgery as well. because it is something in our mind not in our chest. one should not expect a miracle. I am living the same life after surgery. Neither I got promoted nor any of my friends noticed it. But inside I feel much more comfortable, more confident, and happier. Even not thinking about your chest when putting on a shirt is a relief.

I still act the same exact way I did before
that is what I was trying to say.
anyways, one thing is for sure that we have become way more self confident.

I had an extreme case and I was bullied in high school. Its been what? say 1 and a half years now post-op, I got it done 6 months before my 21st Birthday (my bday was absolutely brilliant btw, will remember it for life). I had realistic expectations and it has dramatically improved my look, its helped me focus on other things i.e. weight loss. I still won't wear a tight fitting t-shirt in public NOT because of my chest, but because my belly sticks out more than I want too so it's made me focus on other parts of my body where i'd want improvment, where as when I had gyne I would simply not wear certain clothes all because of my chest ... and thats what everything revolved around MY CHEST.

So to put it short, have the money? have the operation! IT WILL IMPROVE YOUR LIFE DRAMATICALLY, HANDS DOWN. EXPECT REALISTIC RESULTS, NO MIRACLES HERE GUYS. We are who we are, doctors aren't Gods, their just here to assist us in having a better life ... you can look at them as Angels I suppose lolll...

i had a severe case andhad the surgery in july. the way i act and my personality is still the same, but i find myself doing more things and being less hesitant then when i had gyne.
opportunities came just as much when i had gyne, but i would alawys catch myself being "busy". now that i think about it, i wasnt busy...it wasnt my gyne making me hesitant. i might not have thought so then, but now i realize it.  i know its confusing but its hard to explain

Confidence or mental health, no; those were never problems for me.  But surgery made an improvement in appearance so I got exactly what I wanted out of it.  Your mileage may vary.

Yes and No

Yes, there was a noticable physical change

No, it didn't treat my underlying preoccupation with my physical appearance
