I developed a fairly mild case of gyno about two years ago,I recognized it right away. About six months after diagnosing myself with it I went to see a surgeon (Dr. Baxt in Paramus NJ) who confirmed it told me on a scale from 1 to 10 it was about a 1.5. He told me at the first visit it it was hormonal imbalance and it should go away over time. I felt relieved, but after a few months there was no change. I returned to Dr Baxt and he told me at that point surgery would be the best option. I had the surgery did all the correct after care and everything looked great for about six months (about a year and a half from self diagnosis) then it became puffy again under both nipples but more severe under the right. I returned to Dr Baxt to see what he thought he told me it may be scar tissue and gave me a cortizone injection, told me to wait a few months and come back if needed. I have returned twice for two more injections with no improvement, at the last visit Dr Baxt insisted it's just healthy breast tissue however it looks misshaped and puffy and I can feel lumps (about the size of a nickel) under both nipples but in different spots then the original gyno. It has been about a year and a half now since the surgery. If any Doctors read this, do you think it's scar tissue or residual gland? Also, is it possible my surgeon said it's healthy breast tissue to avoid a revision? Should I get a second opinion? I'm definitely lost and need some professional advice.

How old are you? You don't take steroids / use them improperly do you?

(These questions just have to be asked...)

I'm 28 years old and I did use an oral steroid 2 years ago named Superdrol when I first recognized the gyno. I know that's what it's from, stupid mistake. But I have not used anything since and that was about 9 months before my surgery give or take

If your chest was smooth and flat after surgery, then presumably the excess breast tissue was removed.  Any subsequent growth under the nipple would then be considered scar tissue.  If you were never flat after surgery, then there might be residual breast tissue there, which would not respond to cortisone injections.

Suggest you seek a second opinion.
