Hi everyone. This is my introduction here to this group. Thank you admin for accepting me.
I’m a newbie with Gynecomastia. So I will apologize in advance if my statements and questions are old and gone over multiple times on here.
I’m just happy to find a place wear I can express my concerns and feel the comfort that I’m not alone in my journey with gyno.  Attached are some photos of me.
My name is Jim. I’m 64 years old, 5’ 5’’ and 155lbs. But not much over weight. But more that I usually have weighed in my life. What can I say, my wife is a good cook, Lol.
I was recently diagnosed with Gyno in July of this year 2025. The initial onset probably took place around Easter of this year. I was feeling some pain under my right nipple so I went to see my doctor. Ordered a mammogram and guess what showed up? Gyno!
Doctor ordered a full panel of tests and blood work. Only to find everything was within range. So my gyno has been classified as idiopathic.
Within the first four months from onset my breasts developed very rapidly. My wife helped measure me like you would for a bra. It came to a 38 C. My wife went and picked me up a couple of bras at the Good will to help determine my true cup size. I think I'm more of a 38 B+. I've been wearing compression shirts when I’m going to go out into public. Or around family and friends.

I’m now moving into the sixth month and I can tell I’m still in the florid stage. My right breast is and has been the most active with glandular and fat tissue growth. And still pretty tender. My left side is primarily fatty breast growth tissue more associated with pseudo gynecomastia. And a little bit smaller. Both breasts are taking on a very prominent famine appearance in shape and size.

I’m defiantly feeling some emotional distress with all this with how fast I’m developing. It’s hard to believe that this is really happening to me.
My wife is golden. She is very supportive and is mostly concerned about my mental and physical health. She is very comforting to me. She has very large breasts. And I remember saying to her. Wonder what that feels like? She said to me the other week after looking at my boobs. You should be careful what you ask for. Lol

The concern I’m having now is. Even though my condition is classified as idiopathic. My doctors tell me it will most likely resolve on it’s own. But looking at how much my boobs have developed I feel that may suggest otherwise? Looking for others input on that?
I realize the only root cause is most likely hormonal imbalance as an adult my age can experience. But they checked out to be in the range ok for me at my age?  I’m thinking since there is no clear known underling cause for my gyno. And nothing doctors can find to target and treat the issue behind this.  I know surgery is an option I have. But from what I have been reading. My breast growth should stabilize before I get surgery to prevent regrowth afterwards?
I have to wonder if in fact I will continue to keep going through growth spurts until then? Only in the meantime one day I wake up and look at myself in the mirror and take notice of the shocking reality that I’ve grown a pair of enormous knockers I can no longer conceal from public display. Let alone family and friends!
I do and will appreciate any helpful input from others who may have been dealing with gyno for a good period of time.

I started budding at about 12 years of age. The doctors said the same thing. That I would grow out of it.  Well, by high school I was a C cup and 128 pounds in weight,  so I grew into it rather than out of it.
I have in fact never met a person that it "resolved on it's own."

Try going through high school at a 35-29-36" figure, and still in boy mode back then.

Understanding that my condition is slightly different since I was born intersex, still, breast growth is breast growth.

I have had conversations with individuals that had regrowth post surgery,  and surgery only treats the symptoms and not the cause.

Thank goodness your wife is Understanding,  and she's the one that matters.

Gyno, I later found out,  can be hereditary as well. You might take a gander at the next family outing. 
One way or the other, 50% of all men over 50 will have some degree of gyno. So you are in good company.

A very supportive & informative group here.
Birdie is correct concerning the ‘it’ll resolve’ issue.

I practiced nursing for 43 years and the only ones I ever saw that resolved were the newborns that had ‘witches breasts’ and once free from maternal hormonal influences developed normal chests.

My personal experience was a rapid onset due to a sequence of hormonal failures that were related to a not too common syndrome called phenotypic MEN Syndrome. ( Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia ).

It was disconcerting but the group helped me with a speedy accommodation and acceptance.

Others here develop due to aging and a fall in testosterone levels enhanced in some by meds. 

Great to have a wife that is able to accept & help.

Hi. And thank you for input. What you said pretty much cleared up my suspension as to what I had thought. I did read that in early onset there will be rapid tissue growth for the first four to six months. I'm into the sixth month now. I seems to have slowed down a bit. Though I measured my bust yesterday. And I have grown about one inch since this time a month ago. Not so much of projection but I'm starting to fill out more now. I'm hoping they will stabilize soon. I can live with them at the size they are now. I don't really trust having surgery at this time. Oddly enough. I kinda enjoy having boobs. I've always had a fetish for women's breasts. Lol

Thank you so very much. You and this group is very helpful. Your info helped clear up my suspision as to what I had thought. I sometimes feel doctor's with gaslight me with nonsense. I do hope they will stabilize soon. I can live with them like they are. I can still keep them pretty well conciled the size they are. I've always had a fetish for boobs anyway .

Yes, From all that I've been reading and what others have been telling me. I pretty much have to accept the facts.
 Doctor hasn't seen me since my breast growth has really taken off. Going to get a big surprise when seeing just how large I have gotten when I go back next month. And they just get even bigger by that time too.

I see my "Endo" tomorrow.   (There is a history there)  and I WILL be wearing my bra as well..  Not as large, but defiantly bounce and they can and do hurt at times. 

She is much younger, me thinks Indonesian (given her name and strong accent) where there is a healthy machismo mentality, and was saying to me that we could try drugs to slow, stop or reverse the breasts, or even a mastectomy! All without asking me what I thought of them. 

My opinion I told her was.. nope, God put em there, they stay! 

This was unexpected for her.  

My PSA is up and so too is my test., and estrogen.  I have now a high spike of micro albidum (too much protein in the urine) and ironically, the higher PSA and micro alb. situation can be fixed with... 


Estrogen.   




If it curves me out.. more the better. IMO.

so because you probably haven't researched:  
Being 57-58-old, I started developing currently in 2019, poss. 18 but the signs were not as obvious.  

Blood work from the last three pulls showed
Testosterone at: 899, 457, 844. 
Prolactin:  20.5, 16.1, 12.8
Est: 18.6, 56

Those numbers don't follow any logical course.   

But i go through growth spurts about two to four times a year now.  Usually preceded by itching, soreness and then the "Poprock" sensation that tells me something is expanding.  

I have a bust of 50-50.5 and a band of 41.5-42.  This should put me into a F cup but in reality barely fit a large B early C. 

But interestingly, I also have a lower rib cage dia. of 42, belly of 41 waist of 39-40 and hips of 42.   
those measurements along with a lack of adams apple, brow ridge and a nice list of other items including a anterior tilted pelvis indicates poss. intersexed/hermaphrodite.  But no doctor wants to touch it.

Wasn't meaning to ghost you. I was wanting to wait to contact you after your visit with your Endocrinologist you were telling me about. 
 Did that Dr. give you anything positive to help you with the issues you had mentioned to me? Or anything to go one? 

 I'm now in the process of setting up an appointment with an Endocrinologist as I speak.  Since I was declared as Idiopathic I'm not getting any answers. I still want answers!
Gyno can't just come about out of no ware without any unknown cause. That is what I believe.

 Hope your  Endo. had some answers for you too. I find it hard to think doctors wouldn't want to step up and deal with your condition.

No real answers. She was caught off guard by my lack of desire to dump them.  

The only thing they are looking at now is the PSA and Microalbuium.  Outside that everything else is .... there.

 Wish me luck with my Endo visit. Whenever I can get that scheduled.
