I would like to hear from you guys who made a "puffynips" operation. How many days/week before the swollnes disappeared?
Made operation 1 week ago and they look much better but still little swollen/puffy.. Big aerola also.. Thought this would be smaller after operation.

Thanks guys!

Puffy/swollen nipples after your operation are inevitable. Are there cases of guys having gynecomastia surgery and NOT getting swollen/puffy nipples? Perhaps one of the resident doctors in the forum could comment on that. It seems to defy my common sense.

I have had the surgery twice. I had my first procedure in October 2012. I had a revision operation three weeks ago.

After my first operation, the bad swelling subsided after about two months, if I remember correctly. I currently have swollen nipples now as I am only three weeks out from my revision.

So, this is normal and it can be months before things calm down. And even after the swollen nipples begin to subside, there is still additional healing that goes on under the skin, like the healing of scar tissue. You simply cannot know how things are going to end up looking until after the passage of several months.

If things still look less-than-favorable after about 6 months, it's entirely possible that not enough gland tissue and/or fat was removed. In such a case, revision would be needed.

Why did you do one new operation recently?

Yes. I am talking about it at some length in the thread called "Puffy nipples 5 months post-op...is this normal?"

I had my initial procedure in October 2012 and my revision just over three weeks ago. Since I am only 3 weeks post-op, I am currently experiencing the post-op puffy nipple blues. Again, this is something that seems to uniformly freak people out after their surgery. But I'll bet there is no such thing as nipple that don't swell after the procedure.

Be nice to hear from someone who has naturally recovered from post opp swelling of the nipples without a revision, everyone says be patient (as I do) but a bit of proof would be good.

I am 3 months post opp and have a bit of swelling still, nothing excessive but its there.

Good luck with the recovery and all the best!

(if it will help check out my pre & post op picture diary at www GynecomastiaUK.org)

It's reassuring seeing some of these posts. I had surgery for puffy nipples. My right side is flat and succssful so far. Left side is puffing slightly, but it doesn't take much to start to be concerned! It's more puffy post op, four weeks on, than it has been since having the procedure. I'm hoping after time this will calm down and go away. Especially when contracted it feels hard directly under the nipple whereas with the right nipple there is nothing at all. I guess this is scar tissue forming.

Patience is the name of the game here I think!
