hello .. just hoping that somebody can clear this up for me.. my consultation is april 25th i know iv a glandular problem as it was pointed out to me on one my previous posts( here's my pictures.. feel free to comment on my condition ) http://s247.photobucket.com/albums/gg139/irishlad2008/.. but my question is well its more of a worry im prob being stupid but when i tense my chest it is rock hard from working out im afraid that the surgeon wont be able to operate on me because of this, does the gland sit on top of the muscle or below it..? and also i kind of stopped doing weights till after my surgery is this a good or bad idea? im a very active through other sports and body fat is around 10 per cent.. im just worried that if i keep doing chest workouts it will make my condition worse and it will be harder to operate on?? this has been playing on my mind a while now just hoping someone can clear it up!! cheers much appriciated!

Ideally you'll want your bodyfat % to be as low as you can get it before the operation.  This makes it easier for the doctor to sculpt your chest the way it should be.  The gland sits on top of the muscle, so the muscle should not be disturbed.  Most people that ive seen with relatively low bodyfat tend to have better results from surgery.

Having lots of muscle is no detriment to the proper performance of your operation.  You can continue working out up to the day of surgery.  The excess tissue is located on top of the muscle and your surgeon will be removing only that -- the muscle will remain intact.

Keep up the good work -- it is patients like you who get the most superb results after surgery!!
