i have a question that hopefully a dr can answer.   I have and plan to have my gynecomastia surgery within the next couple of months, but I am thinking about having a hair transplant in the near future.  I will then get on propecia  / finasteride .   One of the possible side effects is male breast.   If I have them removed can they grow back since this is a hormone pill??

I've been in Finasteride since 2012 (following a transplant) and had gyne removal last December.

I'm still on finasteride and neither my PS, Doc, or Hair Doc say any issue, or forsee any recurrence as a result (I'm on 1mg daily dose Finasteride)

Gynecomastia is a known side effect of taking Propecia.  There is no way to test for it.  It probably affects 3-5% (an educated guess) of all men who take Propecia.

When you have gynecomastia surgery, most but not all of your breast tissue should be removed.  If you are one of the "lucky" few who reacts to Propecia, it is theoretically possible that you may experience some growth.

In essence, if you have gyne surgery and then begin taking Propecia, there is a very small chance that you may develop re-growth of tissue.  Sorry, can't be more specific than that.
