How important is compression? I had lypo on my gyne, when can I take my bandages off? How much does a compression vest from underworks help?

i had a very large amount of lipo too. I got incisions all the way up my underarms I   been asking doc about compression but he says since I had so much lipo and skin removed its a bit different. So I had been wearing the tight ace bandage for about 4-5 days post op now its off I just have bandages. My chest isnt flat anyway as I am still overweight but I no longer have boobs.

Ive been seeing 2 docs one recommend I could if I want wear something only very specific called a Binder but I have been hard press to find this one. I tried ordering from a supply store but they dont even have it in their order stock. My other doc says its not even necessary,

Theres lots of different types of gyne surgeries and I see most people here have been wearing something so it made me concerned. but everyone has surgery performed a different way with different specs.....better talk to your doctor.

Well I only wore bandages for about 5 days. Is this why there's loads of scar tissue there now?  :-\

My surgeon recommends me to wear compression garment for atleast 6-8 weeks. He says it is inevitable for better healing.

I too had a large amount of lipo + gland excision. My chest is not completely flat due to swelling, but i am happy that i no longer have boobs!!
Surgery on 8th July 2008 under Dr. Deepak KL @ Apollo - Bangalore, India.
Liposuction + Gland excision. Cost - US$ 775 (Rs. 32,200 INR)
