Is alcohol in blood bad for recovery

I heard that its not recommended.  At least after one day it could interact with your anesthesia, and after that, if you're on other medications it could react with that as well.  I'd wait.  How long has it been?  I would personally wait a week or two, but I'm not clinical, so I could be wrong, with that length of time, but I suspect a doctor would tell you to definitely wait.

Most surgeons seem to recommend to take 7 days off alcohol both before and after surgery, but I guess that it varies depending on your surgeon.

It's not good to drink it when you're healing, because it thins your blood (which leads to you bleeding more easily and prevents clotting) and you shouldn't take it with any meds while you recover (obviously). Not quite sure how long you should abstain from it, but that's a simple question your surgeon can answer.
