My surgery is scheduled for two weeks from now and I wanted to know if anyone knows what types of things to avoid (food, alcohol, etc.) I already have stopped taking any aspirin products and currently don't smoke, but I was wondering ifI should avoid anything else.

I was told to avoid: alcohol, garlic, aspirin and Multivitamins (specifically Vitamin E) as they all can thin the blood and can result in post operative bleeding.

Like gingsing ...I don't know all of them off the top of my head. But the herbes can thin blood, and cause excessive bleeding during surgery.

Well you also want to limit your caffeine intake also. SO I guess tea in general will be bad, unless its decaff.
