I'm going on my 4th day post op, i haven't needed my pain meds since the day after my operation.  I'm healing well (i think) so how long do you think it will be until I am permitted to drive?

I have read 24 / 48 hours being the recommended period, which is fairly standard with any General Anaesthetic or heavy sedation.

But you will know how you feel, and what would the pain be like if you had an emergency stop with the seat belt cutting into a somewhat tender area.
Took the plunge and had consultation with Dr. Karidis 7th January 2009.
Surgery 26th February 2009.
Just wish I'd been able to do this years ago.

I was told i could drive the next day but i wouldn't be covered by my insurance since the anesthetic would still be in my system.  Anyway, i really did feel like i could drive the next day. I think i drove around 5 days post op.
