I don't know if anyone here remembers me but I initially posted up about my severe gyne about 5-6 months ago. I'm 17 so this isn't really the easiest thing for me to deal with or talk about. But anyways, after about 4 months of going back and forth with my doctor and insurance company, I got approved and my surgery is going to be covered by insurance! I'm going in for a pre-surgery "consult" on the 18th and I'm wondering what I should be expecting? What happens during consults? What should I be asking my surgeon?

Thanks

Every doctor is different but here is basically what I wanted to know and see:

1. If he was board certified - I checked the ASPS website
2. Before and after pictures - Make sure that he doesn't just do a couple, you want someone that is well practiced
3. The actual procedure - I wanted details about what was going to happen, how long I had to wear a compression garment, when I could work out again
4. If you feel comfortable with the doc and his staff

I ended up choosing Dr. Cruise in Newport and am 3 weeks p/o. He was really easy to talk to, explained everything and his staff was cool (plus the patient coordinators are hot!)
