I had surgery 5 weeks ago. I think i recovered pretty fast, Had little bruising and swelling. Right now I can feel a hard lump under my right side, Its about the size of a quarter and runs along where the incision was. I think this is epidermal scarring. How long will it take for that to go away? When should I consider going back to the doctor and getting a cortisol treatment?

Thanks

Not at all uncommon for there to be some buildup of swelling with some scar tissue -- most commonly at the 4-8 week period after surgery.

Rather than sitting and worrying about it, would advise a return to your normal life and allow your body to heal by itself.  Give it at least 5-6 months before considering any treatment -- for it may not be necessary at all.
