Hi Guys,

I'm curious if anyone has a link that covers all the bases for proper post-op procedure? (compression garments, massaging, scar creams, etc)

I'm also curious if anyone here has used a 'stage 2' compression garment similar to this one:

(and when do you begin wearing something like this?)

I really want to nail down my post-op care as I want to get the best end result possible. I really appreciate any help.

no-one can give you a "proper" post op procedure because everyones case is different and surgeons all use different techniques.  But there are some general suggestion seems to be wear your compression thing for as long as you can...i personally only worse mine for a month but yeah, longer is probably better.

as for scar creams and massaging, some people have success with those. I know massaging makes my chest feel better and sooths it somewhat.  Im not using any scar creams hopefully i won't need to.

I am using a stage 2 compression garment right now.  It is a lot more comfortable, though it is kind of tough to put on and take off, no biggie.  I started using a stage 2 about 2.5 weeks post op when I felt like my incision lines were pretty well healed.  I am using this one https://www.healingenhancements.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=223 .  My stage 1 vest is a size large adjustable, but it seems that the stage 2 runs slightly larger because I had ordered a large, which was slightly too big, so I got a medium, which is perfect.
