Is it possible to surgically remove the thin muscle fibers directly underneath the areola skin?
(The ones that cause contraction.)

Not considering it, just curious about the anatomy of it.

No, you cannot remove them.  These are very thin strands of muscle that exist within and just below the skin itself.  If you tried to do so, there would be horrible results.
