my gyne is just on my left side and mainly results in a very puffy nipple with a hard lump about the size of a large marble, im 19 years old and will be deploying to iraq for 8months should i have this taken care of before i go?  ive had it for about 3 years and its gotten slightley larger.  is their any danger involved if i dont do anything with it,  its tender somtimes.  any info would be greatly appriciated.

I would recommend that you get seen by a breast surgeon and  endocrinologist to confirm the nature of this swelling and maybe do some blood tests/xrays, then procede according to this.

There will probably not be any problem.

I was a USAF Medic (1955-63).

While there, I observed that a whole lot of guys have gynecomastia.  You are much more normal than you think.  If you really look, almost 2/3 of all men have it to some degree.  

It is also very common for the breasts to be of different size.
