A little background… I’m a 34 year old healthy male, 155 pounds, 5 foot 9 inches, probably around 12% body fat. I work out 5 times a week.  I’ve never done steroids before and never had any gynecomastia. I wanted to try steroids but was scared about black-market counterfeits and so I went to a Testosterone Treatment Doctor. After taking blood test, the Doctor said that my Testosterone levels were normal at 512… but wanted them to be “optimal” at around 800-1200. He had not checked any of my other stats like Estrogen levels, and says that because I’m taking such a low dosage, that he won’t be checking it.

I’m receiving 1cc Testosterone Cypionate shot about every 9 days from a nurse in the clinic. Shot #1 Jan 18; Shot #2 Jan 27; and Shot #3 Feb 5. Now, 1 ½ days after my second shot, I started feeling itchiness on my right nipple and the next day I noticed my right nipple was puffy. This is not normal for me. Since I was little, I’ve always had flat nipples, unlike childhood friends who had puffy type nipples.

I was able to get a prescription for Arimidex from my Doctor, 1mg (1 tiny white pill) once a week. My insurance only covered 4 pills (1 month supply at that rate). I took my first pill on Feb 1st. By this point I was already paranoid and after reading a lot of articles on gyno being permanent, with the end result being costly surgery… so I took my second pill on Feb 5th. I’m trying to get my hands on some Nolvadex and Letrozole (also maybe Clomid) to see if it will help. Tonight Feb 10th, I'm taking my 3rd pill because I found someone who can get me more.

As of today, Feb 10th, I’m still seeing the puffiness around both nipples but it comes and goes throughout the day. I’ve shown it to a couple of friends who’ve had gyno and the give me a weird look and say, "I don’t think that’s gyno", "It doesn’t look that bad, mine was a lot worse", or "It’ll probably go away". I do feel a slight, very small lump or ball underneath my right nipple. I’ve heard there different types of gyno, but mine is just the puffy nipples and a little around the nipple. It forms a little pyramid or dome. Not enough to be very obvious when I’m wearing shirt.

The sad thing is that I’m not seeing a very big gain in size or workout weight gain! I’m only seeing “the worst” side effect. I’m not even roid raging yet for crying out loud!

Questions:
If I see puffiness now during the cycle, is there a possibility that it can go away after I stop the cycle?

The puffiness seems to come and go thru the day, is that a normal occurrence with gyno? Maybe gyno hasn't fully set in yet?

I’ve heard that if you take other steroids, then other medicines are needed to prevent or get rid of gyno. I’m only taking Testosterone Cypionate. Arimidex seems to be most recommended for this steroid. Should I try different types to see if they react to my case of gyno better?

I only have access to Arimidex at the moment. Should I stop my cycle completely right away and continue taking Arimidex?

I'm going tomorrow morning (Feb 11th) to a General Practicioner Doctor to hopefully get sent to a specialist to then get the meds I need. I'll try to add some pictures of my gyno soon. If anyone else can help or give advise or experience, that would ease my mind a lot. Thanks in advance for your help!!!!  And a thank you to Dr. Bermant, who already replied on another website to me regarding this issue, he mentioned in his email "Gland under stimulation can swell. Antiestrogens at the right dose can block the swelling to a degree. Once the stimulation is gone, the swelling typically goes down. However, there may be gland growth remaining that can cause contour problems."

I'm no doctor or expert on hormones- but from what I have read it seems like a poor choice for a doctor to put you on testosterone without checking other hormone levels first. They seem to all be intertwined and if you mess with one you mess with another, etc.
Carefully balancing hormones would be idea, not just increasing one.

Lastly, your T level was already at a pretty decent number. From what I've read 300-800 is normal. 512 is right around the middle.

Good luck with it all. Hope you're not stuck with this for life. =\
