Ok so I've had this THING for as long as I can remember. Probably about 13 or 14. Back then I was very thin. I was 5"8 and probably weighed no more than 120. It wasn't so bad then. Now that I'm 30 I've gained a lot more weight and now it has become noticable. I hate it! I hate it! I hate it. I'm now nearly 145. I would say I'm a pretty thin guy but I cannot wear shirts without this being so noticable. I went to the beach Labor Day weekend and took off my shirt. My friend commented, wow you have big nipples and it killed me!!! I plan to save up the money for the operation. I don't want to go through my 30's with this. I actually wanted to start working out but do you guys suggest not and just wait till after the operation? Will it become even more noticable if I work out? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am very close to getting a gym membership. Also I'm in the New York area and would love suggestions from doctors in the area. I want the best, whatever the price may be.

typical gyne.. less than average actually, but that's probably cause you're so skinny :|
i can't comment on surgeons in america, cause i'm from England, but there's no harm in working out, and getting abit fitter before the op (unless it's costing you a shit load on membership). people tell you not to train your chest, because it pushes the gland out and makes it more noticeable.. whilst that's partially true, i wouldn't avoid training your chest.

I think being close to NYC, I would pay a visit to Dr. Jacobs.  He absolutely is a top surgeon in gynecomastia and you would learn a lot from him.  I would also talk to a few more plastic surgeons in your area.  Google some names and see what their website says about gyno.  Make an appointment to discuss it.  Almost always a consult will be free.  Ask them how they would perform the procedure and ask to see pictures of completed surgeries.  The key is to get an experienced surgeon, such as Dr. Jacobs.  Also avoid lipo only.  I made that mistake and will probably need a revision.  I would not call your case severe.  I am surprised one of your friends would make a comment, especially considering all the fat slobs on the beach.  Your case is as bad as you think it is and not what it really is.  Meaning, if it really bothers you, then it is bad but in reality it is not that bad.  Start saving over the next months/years.  Talk to some surgeons and learn as much about this as you can.  It is not permanent if you don't want it to be.
