Hi all,

I'm about 58 hours post op now. Still feeling pretty light headed. How long does it usually take to feel back to normal? I'm not too bad, I just feel slightly off the pace if that makes sense. Im hoping to go back to work soon and wanted to make a prediction.

Couldnt be the vest being too tight could it? Doesnt feel like Im not getting enough air or anything  :D

Thanks.

The effects of the drugs used for general anesthesia are usually gone within 24 hours or so -- but everyone is different as regards their reactions to drugs.

However, surgery itself does have an effect on everyone -- so you may still be feeling the general effects of that.  I doubt if the vest would be producing these symptoms.  You may also be behind in your fluid intake -- no harm in taking in more fluids.

You should be feeling better soon.

Dr Jacobs,

I've concluded that the vest was too tight. I experimented this morning by not wearing it for 2 hours and the light headedness I spoke of subsided in about 45 minutes.

This used to be a regular problem for Victorian women who wore corsets, it's exactly the same principle.

Like I say, I wasn't that bad, I was just slightly too fatigued to be comfortable.

Even without this, the rungs were not compact, they were overly taut. This surely is not a design feature.
