I got my stitches removed by a physician on 7th day after surgery. after 3 weeks, I felt that some stitches are left out and I went to a surgeon and got them removed. but I still not 100% sure if all stitches have been removed as I still see some black lines across areola edge. can there be stitches hidden inside the skin?
is there a way to find out if stitches have been completely removed? can the left-over stitches cause issue if not removed?

Did you have skin removed?  In most of my procedures, I don't have any stitches to be removed--they're dissolving stitches under the skin.  I use the type of stitches that require removal only when I'm removing skin from around the areola.  That said, whoever is removing the stitches should be able to see them, just as you can.

There are different types of sutures. Some sutures require removal and others dissolve. It is not beneficial to remove resorbable sutures in most instances.
