Revision surgery

I am 4.5 months post-op. I am planning to go for revision as I am not satisfied with results. i have slight depression also under areola. How soon one can go for revision surgery?

First, it would be wise to return to your surgeon for follow-up evaluation.  He did the surgery and knows what was done -- and is in the best position to fix something that needs fixing.

As for timing, would absolutely wait a minimum of 6 months or more from your operation.  There is continued healing for that length of time (and usually longer) and any attempt to do a revision prior to that time will be much more difficult.

If you have lost faith in your original surgeon, then do your research carefully and find a surgeon who is experienced in gyne revision surgery.

I rarely consider revision surgery before 9 months to a year, depending on what the issue is.  From your description, what bothers you currently may resolve in time.  As per Dr. Jacobs...unless you're not satisfied with your surgeon, consult with him or her to determine need for and timing of any revision.  At 4.5 months, it's still very early.

As far as revisions and timing , from my perspective , it depends on the problem and what was done surgically. There are some minor issues that often benefit from a sooner rather than later approach. Other problems need to let the tissue and scar soften and mature so a longer wait is the appropriate option. Also some issues tend to resolve with time so obviously in these instances no surgery  is the right course to take.
