I live on my own and will go under the knife pretty soon.

Does anyone here have some kind of checklist for me on what I should take care of pre-op?

So far I have this:

Groceries for the week
Clean the entire house
Buy button down shirts as wearing a normal t shirt will be hard (what i've read on here)

I lived alone and during surgery I didn't have any close friends. Ill give u a quick list of things that come to me randomly at this late hour..

1. Make your living area as injury proof as possible. Immediately after surgery you may be groggy and can trip over items you normally wouldn't. Also you will be on medication for pain in the following days.

2. Prepare some food to be easily eaten. Recovery isn't a good time to miss meals or limit your nutrient intake. You may not be up to cooking.

3. Bottled water/gatorade were life savers... I was constantly falling in and out of sleep. Too drowsy to risk getting up, but very thirsty!

4. Medical supplies to replace bandages if needed.

5. Entertainment... movies, books etc...

Thats all I can think of right now.
