Hi, I'm new to the forum, but I have been dealing with gynecomamstia since I was around 15 years old.

After a hot shower or sometimes while I rest my areola and nipple are puffy/dome shaped. My nipples are not tender and don't hurt at all.

If I do need puffy nipple correction is it also possible to to a nipple reduction as well at the same time?

I am not sure if I need a nipple reduction surgery, puffy nipple correction, or gynecomastia surgery.

Here are my stats:
Height: 5'11
Weight: 140lbs
Age: 18 (will be 19 in March)
Body fat: 10% (I used a caliper, but I am not sure if I did it right)

Below are my pictures (sorry for the bad quality):

When I use 2 fingers and pinch I feel something hard under my areola/nipple (I don't know if it is the gynecomastia tissue or fat). The black lines are where I pinched.

Thanks, I hope someone can help me identify what I have? I live in New York City, and will probably go for a consultation by the end of the year.

Welcome to the forum!!

You have severe puffy nipples and, having had it for 3-4 years, would need surgery to remove them.  It is futile to feel your chest and try to determine what is there -- you do have breast tissue there, which may feel firm or soft.

Recommend you consult a  gyne specialist in your area.  You can get much more information about puffy nipples on my website (see below at my signature area) and you can look at before and photo photos of puffy nipples on my photo gallery -- that should be helpful.

Thanks for your reply! Since I live in New York City, I was (still will) going to find time to schedule a consultation with you.

I do have one question though, you mentioned that I have severe puffy nipples and I would need surgery to remove "them", do you mean the gland under my areola, the nipples themselves, or both?

I was leaning towards a nipple reduction only because my nipples are large and elongated and the mass under my areola feels small, but if the mass under my areola is large and is the reason why my nipples protrude when I wear a fitted t-shirt I would consider doing both.

Is it possible to do a puffy nipple correction surgery in conjunction to a nipple reduction?

Thanks

Sorry -- can't be specific in answering these questions without a physical examination.  At that time, all questions would be answered.

One thing is certain, though, yours would be a tricky operation -- anyone who tells you it is simple doesn't appreciate how deceptive the problem really is.
