I just had surgery yesterday.  I know this might be a dumb question, but when do you think I could drink alcohol again.  I'm not like a huge alcoholic, but I could really use a cocktail right about now.  I have drains so I don't know if that affects what you would say, but any help would be appreciated.  The doc told me I shouldn't smoke for two weeks but made no mention of drinking.  Thanks in advance

Do not drink alcohol for at least 48 hours after surgery.

If you are taking pain medication, it's not a good idea to consume alcohol.
