I work at a tire repair place in az and there is a LOT of lifting cause everyone in az drives huge trucks with huge tires and wheels.  Because of the weight it pretty much takes your whole body to lift it.  Any way, i had my surgery yesterday and am in so much pain.  How long before i can go back to work..  Im afraid i will get fired.

Heavy duty work should be avoided for at least 2 weeks if not 3. But everyone heals differently. That is just a guideline most surgeons say.

I agree. You should atleast wait two weeks before going back to the job.

I had surgery 2 weeks and a day ago and just lifted today lightly and was fine but could tell going real heavy was a no no. I'd say 3 weeks to be safe for heavy lifting if not longer. Why risk it?

I have always been told you need at least 3 weeks, even for minor lifting. If you can get it off affordably it's worth it. You don't want extra scar tissue or complications.
