As many of you may know ive recently had surgery and since then ive had my hormones checked a couple of times (NHS) just to make sure. I'm not convinced though >:(

Subsequently im after a second opinion and im looking for a specialist in the north west area. Could any of you guys let know of anyone you know, maybe people you have visited yourself. I also be prepared to travel outside the north west if there was any specialist who appeared reputable.

Please help as im starting to get a bit stressed

Thanks

Bubble,

I know this post is a bit late; but you, and others, might find this information useful.  I’ve been trawling the NHS for 4 months trying to get an Endocrinologist who really knows about Gyne.  Maybe I’ve been unlucky, but I feel my local ones are simply hopeless and scurry back to their text books each time I ask a question.  My own GP said he was happy to refer me to anyone I wanted, but I would have to find the person myself!  There doesn’t seem to be a central list that GPs can refer to themselves.  This seemed crazy to me that I, as a patient, had to do all the leg work to find the right person.  However I happened upon the (UK) Society for Endocrinology who have put me onto a Professor in Oxford.  Now I dare say there are others scattered about the UK but you might find the Society for Endocrinology a good place to start.  Their address is ..... 22 Apex Court, Woodlands, Bradley Stoke, Bristol BS32 4JT
Tel:01454 642200  Fax: 01454 642222.  They also have a website at http://www.endocrinology.org/
Surgery performed by Mr Levick at The Priory Hospital Bimingham (UK) 20th October 2006
