What kind of doctor do I go to?

I need to see if I have gyne or pseudogyne. What kind of doctor should I be looking for?

You shoud see a plastic surgeon that specialize in gyno surgery.

wouldnt that plastic surgeon give him some biased advice... he is more likely to tell him that it is glandular, because that is what would require ps.. why not go to a general practitioner.?

Unfortunately I dont have a webcam or digital camera. Wish I did though.

When I squeeze the part under my nipple sideways, I feel a hard, circular 1 cm lump. Since some of you have experience with gyne, is it glandular or fatty? I'm thinking its both, but I just wanna make sure in case its just fat

anything hard is most likely glandular. This is what I have.. but mine is much larger, maybe 2 inches diameter.

Yeah, I can easily tell I have some gland. I went to a GP, he pretty much laughed at me. He said "what are you talking about. Theres no gland". When he checked for it, he didn't even push in against the cheast. ALl he did was squeeze me nipple. I felt humiliated. So I ended up not speaking up and just agreeded with him. Clearly, if I flex my peck, you can easily distinguish the gland. I went to a ps. He said right off the bat I had it. Nuff said.

Your usual family doctor would be a GP.

A good place to start, but he/she may not have the specific knowlege you need.

The best would be an Endocrinologist, This is a doctor who specializes in the study of endocrine glands and their related problems.

Oddly enough there is another possibility, Someone who knows more about breasts than do most other Doctors.

I hesitate to say it because I know that there is probably going to be some flack. But, here goes... If you do not have access to an Endocrinologist, a gynecologist probably knows a lot more about breasts Than anyone else.

Yeh I went to a gp and he said I can't notice it ... after he touched them and they went hard and smaller. .. he said they would go away but it's been 4 years so far.
Who do you go to . . . because you can't go to a specialist without being referred to by a gp? or if you do it costs alot!

Given that an endocrinologist is a expert in hormones and gynecomastia is a hormone problem the person to go and see is naturally an endocrinologist.

Plastic Surgeons are NOT experts in gynecomastia, they are only experts in its removal.

This is just not true my friend! I phoned my PS directly to set up a consultation. It's a waste of time going to your GP as she/he most likely does not know enough about Gyne to make a call on  if you need a consult with a PS or not.

I considered  going to my GP about my Gyne but decided to go driectly to my PS. Dr. Fielding said nothing about having to have a referral from my GP.

you can always try a general surgeon.  a lot of them do breast removal surgery on women quite often and would probably have a good idea.  my GP referred me to a General Surgeon after inspecting my breasts and agreeing I had significant breast growth for a male.  

I think a general surgeon also might have a better idea if insurance would cover the surgery (if that is a concern).  when I visited with a general surgeon he seemed fairly confidence insurance would cover surgery.  (in fact, in my case he said the breast tissue probably should be removed).  he also recommended I see a plastic surgeon regarding the matter.
