Hello Everyone,

I'm new to this forum so apologies if this kind of thing has been asked before.

Basically, i'm 25 years of age and i am overweight. I'm not massive but i definitely need to lose weight. The problem i have is my rather large man boobs and have done for years and years. In the past, it doesn't matter how much exercise i did...they didn't seem to reduce any! I'm going to start and get more exercise and start eating more healthily etc.

The help that i need is when it comes to hiding my moobs. Can anyone give me any tips or recommend any products that can help? I've read about the usual "wear dark coloured clothes" etc and i've also seen a pill called 'diet aid of questionable value' that is meant to reduce man boobs. It's very expensive though and i'm not sure what's in it so i don't want to be putting it into my body!

Any help anyone can give then please get back to me.

Many thanks.

Welcome to gyne.org, Choop.

First of all, don't take any over the counter or online remedies for gyne.  They are a complete waste of time and money.  If you truly have established gynecomastia, the only remedy for it is surgery.  Find yourself a good regular doc and a good plastic surgeon.

In the meantime, what you need to hide your chest is called a compression shirt.  Just get online and type that in and a variety of choices will come up.  I saw the other day at the mall that even popular department stores are starting to sell them.  (I think I was at Dillards or Macy's when I saw it).  These shirts are effective in hiding your chest until you can have surgery.  My recommendation is not to buy one that is too tight, however, or you'll never wear it.

Good luck.

Does the fact that you cannot get the product name to come up on your post tell you anything? That product is a scam.

Over the counter preparations sold to reduce Gynecomastia will only reduce the thickness of your wallet. If they actually worked, this site would have disappeared years ago.

The fool and his money are soon parted.

Thanks for your thoughts guys. I've got a vest i wear at the moment but it doesn't really do much. I does reduce my moobs slightly but you can still tell they're there! I saw a product on Ebay the other day that has double compression panels across the chest so i might give that a go.

I don't really want to think about surgery just yet. I've got the mind set now to get as much exercise as possible but this is hard when i don't have the confidence to just wear a t-shirt....especially when it's hot! I tend to try and wrap up to conceal my moobs but then i get comments like "are you not warm in that??" or "come on....take that off....it's sooo hot out here" and of course because it is and because i'm wearing a jacket or something...i start to sweat profusely and i then get comments on that!! :(

Unfortunately, my job requires me to wear a company polo shirt. They provide a fleece aswell which i wear because it hides my moobs but now the hot weather is here....i'm in trouble!! It's made worse by the fact that there are LOTS of nice looking ladies in my workplace...all around my age (25).

There are no easy answers if you are overweight.  And yet, losing weight is truly your best option.  Once you have reduced to an acceptable and stable weight, then consider consulting a gynecomastia specialist for a surgical consultation.  Your gyne will be smaller after weight loss -- but it will still be there.

In the meantime, wear the compression garments, watch your diet and hit the gym hard.  Many guys on this forum have done so -- but it takes real determination and a "take charge of your life" type of change.

Best of luck!
