I can't really say with certainty what is causing your pain, but statistically, the potential that you have breast cancer is very, very low in the absence of some significant genetic predilection. You should see your primary care physician so that you can be properly examined and evaluated, but it's unlikely.  He or she may be able to evaluate your pain, and shed some light on it.

Pain is common in some stages of gynecomastia, so the fact that you're having discomfort isn't unusual.  it suggests there may be ongoing stimulation of the tissue.
