Instead of Email, write out a list of things that you want to say and questions that you want to ask. On a separate paper list any and all medications you may be using, include the dosage and frequency of use. Everything should be included, even vitamins, caffiene drinks, alcohol, tobacco, and street drugs. The ability of the Doctor to make a correct evaluation of your case is no better than your degree of honesty here.

Take two copies of your Question list and one copy of the medication list with you to your appointment.

Give the medication list to the Doctor's aid when you are first put into the examination room.

If you can keep your cool, The question list is your reminder. Though you may give a copy to the Doctor in order to save time.

Should you get tongue-tied at the last moment, simply hand one copy of the paper to the Doctor and let the Doctor lead the discussion. The other is for you to make notes. Make sure you have a pen with you!

You will likely have only a few minutes to make your needs known. If you are well organized, you will get the most out of your time with the Doctor. Also if you are considerate of the Doctor's time in this way, you may actually get more of it.

This procedure is a very good idea anytime that you have a Doctor's appointment.
