Tamoxifen is a breast cancer dug. It's not designed for gyne. Having said that, while it MAY have some beneficial points. The key side effect is impotence... I'm not even kidding. With that in mind, if treating gyne to get into bed with women is your motivation.. It may not pan out. While it seems to get some usuage as a gyne treatment for body builders. I havent heard any real positive effects.

Hi,

I suggest you do a search on this site for the word “Tamoxifen” and have a good read.  You will easily recognise the misinformed posts and hopefully ignore those and pick up on the facts.

Anti oestrogens like Tamoxifen and aromatase inhibitors (a different kind of drug sometimes used) have been well covered in previous topics.  There are some benefits to using these but they have only been shown to have an effect in the EARLY stages of gynecomastia growth.  If you have had your gyne for more than a couple of years the format of the gland will have changed and these drugs will have no positive effect at all.

Never ever take these drugs without being under the medical supervision of an experienced medic who has used them for gyne treatment.  Ideally an Endocrinologist who specialises in reproductive systems, is the person to see.

i saw my general physician about my gynecomastia, he seemed to be fairly familiar with it. i had a blood draw and everything to evaluate my different levels of everything or whatever...my physician was going to refer me to a surgeon until i asked him if there was any way to get rid of the gynecomastia without surgery, and he said i could try tamoxifen for a few months and see if that works, and if not then get surgery. it sounded reasonable to me. anyway he wrote me a prescription. is the one guy above correct about impotence being a potential side effect? do you think it is at all worth trying tamoxifen? i've had gynecomastia since i was about 14 btw and i'm 20 now

It's pretty far fetched man. I've never stumbled across anyone who managed to get rid of it with tamo (because you've had it for a while).

all body builders use it w/zero reporting impotence. it's quite the contrary actually, cuz ur T levels will rise as well and thus u'll have higher libido.

LOTS of misinformation in this thread...   impotence is not a potential side effect (where do people get this sh!+)  it won't hurt you to try tamoxifen for a while, but i'll tell you now it won't give you the results you desire. my opinion: skip to the surgery

agree..however i do think tamoxifen will help with small amt of breast tissue only...which could be result of low T.  if u got nodules or hard gland than yes, surgery is only option to rid it.

as for impotence..it's listed on some sites as impotence a side effect for men.  however, these guys also have breast cancer which is why they were taking it...so may be correlated.

Any drug that effects your hormones has many potential side effects if not monitored properly. One of the possible side effects of a hormonal imbalance is impotence. If the tamoxifen is taken unsupervised or improperly then it is definitely a possibility. Google tamoxifen and impotence. I spoke to a guy on another site that was on tamoxifen for fertility issues and now has really low testosterone and all the symptoms. The people posting above are right about the misinformation thing. Search for it yourself and just because someone acts like they know what they are talking about doesn't mean they really do.  If your gyne is caused by low testosterone ask your endo or gp about clomid it might help jump start your bodies natural production, but again with this you need to be monitored by a qualified professional.

Tamo doesn't mess with your hormonelevels. It's an SERM, meaning it inhibits the receptors in the gland, thus making it impossible for the estrogen to bind.
