Call me ignorant but I still believe there is another way to get rid of these glands other than TO RIP OPEN YOUR CHEST AND CUT IT OUT!
Surely, if there was enough research done, a pill could easily be made to target the gland and break it down? With all the cures out there SURELY something can be done!

Do you really think we would be paying thousands of dollars and "getting our chest ripped out" if there was another way.

Perhaps there will be a tablet in the future, but for now, I wouldn't hold your breath :)

If they could invent a pill that does that, then they could also invent a pill which targets cancerous tumors and breaks those down as well.

Not going to happen.

The 1st step of curing gynecomastia is ACCEPTING the fact that surgery is the ONLY solution. Trust me, I've been exactly in the same situation you are, and I was saying to myself exactly the same thing. Don't waste your time and energy looking for other solutions, you could instead plan and prepare yourself for surgery...that's if YOU really WANT and are committed to live life gyne free.

I think a healthier attitude is to think that there are many things we can do to make ourselves better. We probably can't make the glandular portion that much smaller. I'm trying right now with some supplements, and we'll see over the long haul. I have reduced the fat portion with diet and exercise. More exercise will make the skin tissue tighter as long as rapid weight loss is not induced. Doing this will help the surgeon to have a better patient to work on. If there's less fat, then less lipo is needed.

Let's be honest. This site clearly promotes surgery. Almost certainly surgery is the most likely long term solution. There have been many fraudulent scams to sell you a quick fix. Why? Because there are so many of us hiding in the shadows afraid of our own bodies and feeling shame. I say take charge. Do something. Be part of the solution.

Someone explained it to me by saying "you can't uncook an egg nor can you ungrow breasts".

There has been great progress in dealing with Gynecomastia, but all of the progress has been in surgical methods.

The first liposuction was in Italy in the 1970s. By the mid 1980s liposuction had made its way to the U.S., and Ultrasonic Liposuction appeared in the 1990s. So you see the modern surgical methods are actually quite new and the readers of these pages are fortunate to live in a time when these methods are available.

Surgical methods just over twenty years ago were relatively crude by todays standards.

When there is a medical breakthrough, you will find it here. You may be sure that when it does come it will be available by prescription only. Until then you are free to waste your money on the various scams.

At this time, there are but two options: Live with it or have surgery.

And who is going to fund this research you speak of?

Talking about research, caused me to recall an article I read in a local newspaper. The article was about a government grant of $150,000 (not alot, but significant) to fund research into the sexual habits of flying squirrels. OMG... I'm sure that $150,000 could have been put to better use elsewhere...

Our tax dollars hard at work eh!   ::) ::) ::)

Wow, now thats sad. They should give gynecomastia.org a grant...then a couple hundred people can get free surgery! :)

Ive been in a least a dozen agruments over at bodybuilders.com with people who just think i threw $5,000 out the window and their AIFM/YES/Cabaser will get rid of gynecomastia.  No one likes when i post in the "puffy nipple" thread because they feel i am too pro-surgery and they dont want to hear that surgery is the only way.

With the number of men that have Gynecomastia to some degree, a medication to shrink it would be a gold mine. If anything appears to be promising, The drug companies will be tripping all over themselves to be the first at the patent office then the first to start clinical trials.

No outside funding needed.

It would probably be noticed as a side effect to a drug under trial for something else.

Minoxidil started as a blood pressure drug, So too Viagra. Both had interesting side effects which ultimately became the primary use for each.

Ha it would probably also put plastic surgeons who specialize in gynecomastia surgery in the poor house.

Not really, Even if a medication was available, there would always be some people for whom it did not work.
