surgery coming up

Hi-

I was diagnosed with this condition a few months ago, although ive known that I had i for quite some time.  I'm 19 years old and will be having surgery in a few weeks.  It is unilateral, and causes me great discomfort.  I was wondering if you could tell me about how long the healing process will take.  my surgeon told me I am going to have to wear a vest for about a month, but how long does the bruising typically last? and I know scars will be permanent, but how long does the nipple typically look "different"  thanks in advance.
