Hey bambu  I went for my consult a couple of days ago I too have to pay $1200 funny how he just picks the number out of the air but what ever I still don't know if i want to go through with it as i don't know how my body will heal up after. How bad did he say yours was?

Yeah, I'm a tad concerned about the healing process also. My body does not heal very quickly these days.  :-/

Dr. Fielding said that I am larger than most. The Gyne that FB had is very similar in size to mine. I'm poss a tad bigger. You can see my pics in the post 'Gyne @ 41 Yrs...' in 'User Photos'.

Hey Bambu - I hope you have the same experience I had with regards to healing. I'm 39 and I healed very quick, very minor bruising and really nothing more than a discomfort - everyone heals different though.

I read your post on Anesthesiologist's possible strike - man that sucks, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Yes, hopefully I will heal as well as you.

The Wife said that they may go on strike sometime in Feb. However, I watched CityTV news last night and there was no mention of an Anesthesiologist's strike. However, the Wife was watching the Global network at the time. So I'm not 100% sure of what is going on. Will keep my ears open though.

Hey guys--   I had my surgery with Fielding exactly a year ago.  I paid $800 CDN for the lipo portion and OHIP covered the rest.  Either his rates went up this year, or he charges a different rate depending on the degree of gynecomastia (mine was a relatively mild case).

I was 47 when I had the operation, and he didn't use drainage tubes, so it did take a full year for me to get the full results, but I'm quite pleased.

I'll be happy to answer any specific questions about the whole experience.

Did you ask J.C.F. if there would be a posibilty of the Gyne comming back? I forgot to ask him that question.

How long should I wait to get back to the Gym?

Do you have noticeable scars?

D@mn, I should have written these questions down for when I went to his office. Too late now I guess.

He didn't say anything about the breast tissue growing back, and a year later I still have a flat chest.  He did assure me that once the fat is sucked out from that area, it does not come back.

The scars alongside the nipple were visible (only to me) for the first couple of months--now I can't see them at all.  The lipo scars are very tiny so I don't even notice them.

He told me I could go back to the gym two weeks after the operation, but I waited a few more weeks anyway.
On the day of the operation there will be a few minutes in the operating room before they put you under where you'll be able to ask him more questions.

yes, you will need one, go to www.underworks.com  get the compression 990 vest...and get 2 sizes, buy one of them 1 size down because they fit a bit big

I'm in bc, I have a few questions.  Return trip to Toronto is around $500.  Do I have to meet the doctor for consultation or can I just send him pictures?  That's alot of money to travel there twice!

Also, does anyone know if my medical plan in BC will cover the operation in Toronto?

I'm getting excited!

I'm gonna bang soo many chicks.

You will need to fly to TO for the consultation unfortunatly. Call his office and ask about what's covered with B.C med. I've seen posts from guys in Alta saying that it was covered for them so I don't see why B.C would be any different.

Yowch.  I guess I'll call him first.  I can't afford that.  Maybe someone in bc can do it.  But I doubt it.  Thanks for the info.
