I tried doing the same thing and he made me come in as well...I was only 500km away so it was more of a inconvenience than cost.
Even flying twice to Toronto you will still find it cheaper

I made my consultation date!  late April.

I'm flying out from bc, return flight is about $350.
The lady on the phone said that the ministry of health might cover some or all of the cost of travel!  That is great considering I have to fly across the damn country twice in order to work with Fielding.

Hope you didn't book with Jetsgo  ;)

That's a long flight but it's still cheaper than paying somone in Van.
Too bad Fielding couldn't set up video conferencing for remote client's .

Ahh!  I just found out that plane tickets are $350 each way!

That means it will cost me about $1500 to fly to Toronto from Vancouver twice.  That will max one of my credit cards (Which is how I intend to pay for this).  The secretary at the Fielding office told me that some people get their flights paid for by the Ministry.  Anyone heard of this?

Yeah i've heard of it,but I'm not sure if it's a normal "travel grant" or not, you'll have to do some research with the ministry of health,

I paid for my surgery with dr. fielding by credit card to ...lol :) good luck
had the surgery done,now i'm gynecomastia-less

Here are some pics

I bought my plane ticket for the consultation, cost $580!

When I go back will be another $600.

So flying out there will cost me nearly me entire credit card limit.  I have another one with $1000 available.  I hope that will cover the cost of the operation.  I need to do this now or I don't think i will be able to function in society much longer.  50 percent of my day is spent being terrifed and embarassed.  Maybe for no reason.

How much do you think Dr.Fielding will charge to fix me?  I think my case is fairly mild.

this isn't etched in stone but I don't see the cost being more than 1200$ everything included, mine cost 1070$ for a mild case as well , the same basically as yours...

Yay. thanks for the help guys.  I am very excited, I'm in this for the long haul now that I've committed so much money in non-refundable tickets.  Hooray for Fielding.

Are your lives much better now?

Of course.

Dude, one cannot put into words how much getting rid of Gyne changes your whole outlook on life...

It's an awesome feeling to be able to stand straight and tall with just a T-shirt.  ;)

Good to hear that you are looking forward to your Op. You will not regret it!

Yes.... JCF, He-Da-Man!

Zardoz - one word of advice. When booking the operation make sure your surgery is booked at the begining of the day.
Like you, I had to travel to Toronto for surgery but my surgery was scheduled for the afternoon - there were delays and in the end my surgery was cancelled - yes it sucked royally, I had to return home and then come back the following week. I'm told it's rare that this happens but don't take any chances.

good luck man.

Yeah, $1280 including GST.

Dr. Fielding said that I was larger than most. I would say it was a 'moderate' case of Gyne. See for yourself, pics in my Sig....
