I think it's useful for people to see the gradual changes that happen as one recovers from surgery. So, here are my 3rd week updated pics. You'll notice the bruising blotches are all but gone. Lots of scar tissue and some swelling remains.

Getting there, man. I actually tried on a tight-ish turtleneck on today without my compression vest, and I found myself wondering if the reason I wasn't liking what I was seeing was because I'm just being hard on myself and having unrealistic expectations. This gyne has been a mindf**k for such a long time for me that it's gonna take me awhile to be able to see my body, my chest, objectively.

Yeah, getting the gyne reduced is the easy part. Getting over the psychological pain/scars for some, can be very difficult.

It's a great state of affairs when I read the experiences of all these young people who come on these boards, and for them its like it was just a given that there would be a solution to this problem. What makes it especially hard for people like us is that the resignation that we would be stuck with this condition for our entire lives had set it in. It's hard to shake that.

Before I found this site and learned that there was a 'fix' for the condition, I , in my wildest dreams, never thought that I would be free of the 'Curse'...

Just finding this site is a MASSIVE step. I've been on the internet since the days that webcrawler and altavista were big players in the search engine wars, you know? Just taking the step of searching the word "manboobs" was huge for me. It's getting harder to remember now, because I'm on this forum so much, and because I'm post-op - but this whole condition was such a taboo part of my life - so deeply embedded only into my deepest inner psyche because I was so ashamed of it -  it really plays a number on you. This site has fostered in me a deep sense of responsibility - to share my experience as much as possible, and to try to be an example to others - the way you are, GB - that there IS a fix, that we're not alone, and that there's nothing to be ashamed of.

i've been following your case closely.. i have a similar pre-op chest, and am meeting with dr. lista soon..

thanks for the comments, I really appreciate them. I actually had my 1 month follow up with Dr. Lista yesterday. He was really pleased with my progress, and said that it will only get better as my scar tissue goes away. He advised that I start massaging the scar tissue more vigorously with the arnica gel - and to keep the compression vest on for another 2 weeks. Also, he said I can start working out again - so I was in the pool at my gym literally an hour later  . Total phantom gyne going on, though. It's gonna take me awhile to adjust to the fact that its not as bad as it used to be.

Here's my 1 month post-op pics. I won't post pics again until I feel like I've made significant progress with my scar tissue.

hey dondante,

your 1 month post op looks absolutely amazing!

i met with dr. lista today and feel like im going to go with him.. i met with another PS before, but dr. lista seemed to ooze confidence (but not arrogance)..

i noticed that you have two small scars as a result of the surgery... dr. lista did mention he was going to use those points for incision... how bad is the scar?
