hey dondante,
your 1 month post op looks absolutely amazing!

Thanks!

i met with dr. lista today and feel like im going to go with him.. i met with another PS before, but dr. lista seemed to ooze confidence (but not arrogance)..

He's very confident - and I believe that's an extension of his experience. If you check his website, he has a pdf of an article he co-wrote on his surgical procedure for gynecomastia - it's a good read.

i noticed that you have two small scars as a result of the surgery... dr. lista did mention he was going to use those points for incision... how bad is the scar?

The incision scar is not that bad at all - I find the scarring under the skin where he performed the lipo to be way more bothersome. Dr. Lista told me where he would be making the points for incision, he doesn't make them completely even from side to side to make it look more natural. I'm also very confident that as time goes by the incision points will fade. If you check out Braveboy's pics - he had his surgery done with Dr. Lista - his incision points cannot be discerned at all in his 1 year post op pics.

Good for you for having your consult with Dr. Lista today. His clinic is really topnotch. Just make sure you communicate to him your expectations. I find that Dr. Lista is all about managing his patients expectations, and he doesn't blow sunshine up your a** just to get you to use him.

As a side note, I went to see my gp today to show him my results - and he was blown away. His opinion was that the Dr. who performed my surgery REALLY knew what he was doing. Further reinforcement to me that Dr. Lista is one of the best in this field.

If you've got any other questions - please don't hesitate to ask. I was incredibly nervous going into my surgery - and I really appreciated the support I got from people here. Know that I and alot of others will be there for you too!

and thanks for pointing me to braveboy's pics... his incision scars are only noticeable if i go searching for them...

what's the scarring under the skin feel like? is it supposed to subside?

My scarring feels like hard tissue, in one area of my left chest there's a part of it that feels like a lump. The amount of time it takes for it to subside depends on numerous factors, how active you are after your surgery, the body's natural healing process, the intensity of the lipo itself. So, it's gonna vary from person to person. Generally, they say it takes 2-6 months to go away - though I've read some people here tell stories of how it took them over a year. Being only 1 month post op, I don't know how long mine will take. I will say this though, it's alot softer now than it was the first week after surgery. When you go to your first week followup, Dr. Lista or his nurse will tell you to use Arnica gel and massage your chest with it to help the scar tissue along... little piece of advice, though, is buy it at Shopper's drug mart - it's Boiron Arnica Gel - it'll cost you $15 at shopper's as opposed to the $30 they'll try to charge you at Dr. Lista's clinic  ;).

Hey Braveboy,

Wow, thanks for pointing that out.

It seems that he did a great job with the revision.

If you had to go through the whole process again, would you go back to dr. lista for your operation?

Wow, thanks for that. Just remember, communicate your expectations to Dr. Lista, be realistic about the end result, and count on the recovery period being way harder than you're expecting right now.

cheers,
dondante

Hey Dondante,

I started a new thread under "Gynecomastia Talk".  Can you please refer to that.  I have an appointment with Dr. Lista tomorrow and want to know if there are any particular questions you think I should be asking.

Also, I know you mentioned that you purchased the arnica pills somewhere else beforehand?  Where was this?

Thanks.
