Congrats on your surgery dude!!!  ;)

the dreaded paper pants > post-op pics!  ;D

OMG dude....  those look like granny undies.   :P
What's the purpose of those? ???

The hospital allowed me to wear my own shorts during surgery...   8)

haha - cheers mate,

I've checked your pics - Your results are awesome by the way!

Those pants .... yeah  :-[

I really dont know why they make you put them on. For a while i thought i would be allowed to wear my boxer shorts too then they brought those monstrosities in  :D . They are more netted than paper. I think the reason for them is to either A) stop infections/hygiene reasons or more likely B) just for the surgeon and his crew to have a laugh during surgery about the fact that you are actually wearing them.

I dont think i would have won any style awards in the hospital wards that day anyway  :D

hi mate, i stayed here http://www.qualitymaitrise.com/ on the Monday night and Tuesday night - op was on the Tuesday!

To be honest the hotel wasnt worth the money we spent. (220 for 2 nights). Its situated on Kilburn High road which was about 15-20 minutes walk from St Johns hospital. I know there was a marriott across the street also and i've read of people who have stayed in holiday inns close by (not sure exactly where though).

1 night in the hotel post op is fine - i flew back the next day and felt great for the most part. Have a shop around for the best price. Like i said above Kilburn is quite close and reasonably cheap with lots of restaurants and local amenities so for a trip like that it was ideal!

thanks for the info niguy! just realised it would make sense for me to stay a night before the op as i wouldnt want to put any more stress on the day with driving. i will check that hotel out as it seems ideal with it bein so close.

hope the healing is goin well with u!

How're you doing?
It's going to be one week now.... I hope is getting better, I'm doing well, bit of healing pain but nothing to complaint about.
My belly looks bigger now too, I think is going to be ab work for me next week when I go back to the gym for a light workout.
Let me know how you are.

8 days post op

Hi everyone.

Well the last week or so has been textbook in terms of recovery. The swelling is going down and the bruising is subsiding thankfully. I'm finding it hard to get rid of the permanent marker lines karidis put on my chest as i'm afraid to let to much water near that area.

I removed my plasters today and i have to say apart from some dried blood the scars are barely noticeable (relative to what i thought they would be like). I have been looking at my chest everyday, sometimes twice. I've told myself that not much good can come from looking at it so often but i cant help myself  ;D

In terms of the results i'd say i'm 95% pleased with how it all looks so far. My only concern is that my right is still far bulkier than my left (my left is perfect though - touch wood). However i am very lop-sided and every other part of my body is the same > right arm, right shoulder etc. Even my rib-cage is bigger on the right which doesn't help with the symmetry of my whole body. Sometimes i think to myself 'what if he had taken out just a bit more from the right - it would look perfect' but i guess that is cosmetic surgery for you. Perfection is rarely and never guaranteed to be achieved.  Although in saying that i dont know how my chest would look if he had taken out a bit more because when i tighten my chest the contours look perfect. When i think that my pre-op goal to was be able to wear t-shirts and feel comfortable then that target has been achieved 100% and my chest looks normal  ;D which i still cant get over.

I'm really thankful that as each day passes this is a part of my life that is getting closer towards some sort of closure. I was watching the news yesterday and there was something about the male compression vest (or moob-tube as they called it) and i was watching with the same spite and anger that plagued me pre-op and it dawned on me that i was free of gyno for good and that was a great great realization  :D

My aim over the next few weeks is let the healing run its course. I'm still taking my Arnica and Bromelain each day and i'm going to switch to a nike pro vest at the weekend I'll be about 11 days post op then. I've also started sleeping on my side a bit more - not totally back to normal but getting there. I'm going to start some light training next week. I'm going to start if off with some light cardio, maybe a mile on the treadmill at a steady pace then gradually build back up. I'll try some light weights towards the following week with some light dumbbell work. I'm going to try and avoid overhead movements (lat pull downs, shoulder press, chin-ups etc will all be off the menu). I', also going to start using my bio oil and Arnica cream from week 3 too. I cant say if it will help but its as much about the mental battle too i suppose.

anyway, here are some pics taken at 7 days post op. Let me know what you think.

good pics again niguy hard to believe how neat the aerolas scars are, i feel more confident about karidis now.  one questions ur areolas are small now, were they like that before.
i have probably a similar case but find mine can get puffy at times. my goal is also the same as u to walk around with a t shirt smiling i bet that feels amazing

It looks great!
I think one side always heals quicker than the other. I have begun to notice little lumps and bumps but surely it's part of the sweeling reducing, tissue healing and scar tissue formation that gets sorted out with massage.
I think It looks fantastic, Karidis is a great surgeon and your pics prove it, just after a week it already looks good.
As a personal note I'll say I'm very happy also with the results, along the 90 something mark also. With healing quicker on one side than the other.
Take care

Just for reference you dont have to wear them pants ;)

they are for people who are getting stomach work etc done. The nurses should have told ya lmao! Nice results mate seriously dont even start judging them yet because there will be so many changes happening. One day youl feel shit about the result next day youl be buzzing im still seeing improvements to this day and make sure you massage from the 3 week point vigoursly for the best result!

Nice one :D
