How long after surgery do you have to massage? sleep on back before returning to normal?

When you feel painless/comfortable. Ideally after 7 days you should give it a try i'd say, once your antibiotic course has been completed etc.

You massage to breakdown the scar tissue, not to prevent it happening.

You shouldnt start massage until you are fully healed, otherwise you might make it worse. Talk to your PS.
