I was wondering how long after recovery one can get back to not playing basketball, but the physical action of jumping, or working on plyometrics? I have a pretty good vertical (38 inches), play a lot of basketball, and I have a dunk contest I promised to attend late september. I know I should wait a MINIMUM of a month just to play basketball, but how long does it take to work on jumping or just explosiveness/footwork?
Also, will the wait time to work on jumping affect me or lower my vertical at all, because I really want to be at full strength for the contest (I also want to do a dunk where I rip my shirt for theatrics  ;) )
