I normally am the one answering questions but this time I am the one asking. I am appearing on the Jay Thomas Radio talk show tomorrow at 2:00pm Pacific time. The topic is gynecomastia. He, however, calls them "Man Boobs".  I want to make sure he treats gynecomastia with respect yet I know he is obligated to be interesting and at times sensational. I would like any listener of his show to tell me if he is a straight up guy or if he is simply out to mock this very sensitive subject.

i'm not a regular listener, but looking at the website the sensational factor is very hard to miss, starting with the lead item about some boob boxing girl from american idol.  (though even with gyne, i have to admit that title's kind of funny.)

have you tried discussing your concerns in advance?  i'm definitely suspicious, i'm sure he'd probably lie and try to be sensational even while pretending to you to be serious, but if you yourself thought you'd have a real chance to put out serious word, i don't know how others here feel, but i could respect the effort.  and assuming you were the sole guest instead of one of several, if it got out of hand, you always have the option to suddenly walk off too.  that's my $.02 anyway.

* a man is more than a body will ever tell
* if it screws up your life the same, is there really any such thing as "mild" gyne?

Tx. I will present it professionally. I am sure he will make fun of it at times. I think there is a tactful way of letting him be funny but then letting the audience know in a not too stuffy way the signficant impact this issue has for so many men.

Hey, let us know how it goes.
I remember Jay Thomas from a TV sitcom years ago.  He appears to be pretty cocky, so I'm sure the Gyne jokes will fly.  But stay the course - he'll probably make a fool of himself and you'll get to play the straight man who knows his stuff.

As you might expect, Jay Thomas and his sidekick did make as much fun out of gynecomastia as they could. I did my best to convey how serious an issue it is for so many men. Overall, it went well. Pretty much what I expected.
Thanks
