I'm on the slim side (5'8", 150 lbs) in my 50's and was even slimmer when I was in my 20's, but I always had fleshy boobs (without puffy nipples).

I think some guys have large glands (puffy nipples) and some guys just tend to gain weight in their boobs. I was one of the later until my surgery 3 weeks ago.

At the beach, I've always noticed that some very overweight guys had smaller boobs than I did, and some overweight guys had enormous boobs.

I think if you're overweight, with big boobs, weight loss will help make them smaller, but no matter how much weight you loose, you're not going to end up with a flat chest (if that is your goal).

Just my 2 cents.

You cant rely on individual cases, im sure youve got a picture of an amazing transformation but it doesnt change anything.

If you think you can lose the weight, then go for it no-ones stopping you. But i think your in denial mate we've all been there none of us have had surgery as a quick fix, its the only option 99.9% of the time

and I don't know if its denial because I use to be skinny at around age 10, but when i pinch all around my chest area it feels like fat, all of it feels like fat, the same exact texture to that fat on my arms and stomach.  in my case however, i gained fat in the chest first- so it will be the last to go.

we'll see how it looks with 30 pounds or so lost.

Dude... I went down to 148 lbs (standing @ 6') in 1990 in an effort to get rid of my m(o)(o)bs. Sure, they were a tad smaller, but the majority remained... Very disappointing to say the least...   :-\

Don't be surprised if your weight-loss efforts don't provide you with the results you are seeking...

Maybe your right.  But look at post #5 for instance, the dude looks like he has gyne, when he lost all the weight the chest looks MUCH better.  Sure you can still notice the gyne but I would live with that, it's not that bad (atleast for me).  Look at the post #13 that guy has what looks like major gyne.  He lost all the weight and all of that is gone now.

Bambo or anyone else, does it look like the guy on #13 has gyne on that before picture?

I personally found that the thinner I got the more my man-boobs stuck out (when I was wearing a shirt and I wore a shirt or beater everywear, including the beach).

Just a little bump.

This is about 2 months of progress.  About -18lbs, but -35lbs total lost so far.

One thing I notice between the pictures is my right side is not sagging as much anymore, and there is a red crease under it I think from all the weight that was sagging there before.  At about 180 lbs now, looking to drop 20-30 more to see how everything looks.  I can start wearing tshirts now and it isnt that apparent.

Congratulations on the weight loss so far!  There is quite a difference in the contours.

These Standard Photos for Male Chest and Loose Skin can better document the loose skin component and how it is changing.

Have you been tracking your Body Fat Percentage? Remember that changing fat to muscle does not change a scale / weight but may still reflect progress that a body fat analyzer can show.

The recommendation I give to my patients is get to a weight you are happy with, wait until the skin stops shrinking, and then consider if any further issues remain.

As loose tissues become more of a factor, Body Sculpting Garments can offer a better instant temporary contour improvement. Check the example of the after massive weight loss patient posted there.

Hope this helps,

Wow.....Great Job man....I think with time and dedication you will be where you are wanting.....that's already quite an improvement. Could you tell me what you have been doing (diet, workout, ect)? You pec muscles are a lot bigger they seem or maybe you have just cut the body fat or both.....either way keep on going. I think you are on your way to a non-surgery manboob recovery.

Thank you man, it means a lot.

I originally started at around 220 LBS on January 18th, as of this morning im at 177 lbs.  I weighed 198 however on the "before" picture, so you can imagine how much more I weighed.
In terms of what I have done to lose this weight: Diet (Eat at a calorie deficit) Weight Lifting 3-4x days a week, and Cardio (4-5x a week).  If you do those 3 consistently you will see the fastest results, and you will become stronger.  I do not recommend at all losing weight WITHOUT weight lifting however, as you lower your weight your body frame will look much better if you have been lifting vs crash dieting or running only.  When you lose weight without lifting you will lose weight all right but you'll just be a skinny fat version of your old self, the point is you want to maintain as much muscle tissue you have.

In terms of my pecs shaping up I think its a combination of lost fat and my pec's getting tighter.  After doing Bench press, Dumbell Flies, Cable crossovers for about a month I notice more definition in my chest.  I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone (for the first time in my life I can see my pecs under the fat).

I think your right too on not getting surgery.  I am going to drop about 20-25 more pounds then go on a bulk to fill in any loose skin I might get (so far have none however)

My diet hasnt been as consistent as I would like however these past two months.  Once summer starts I'll be able to eat more clean (will be at folks house) as I wont have the temptations of girls coming over asking to drink constantly

Ill give you guys another progress report in two months- If you have any questions ask away

Thanks doc.

Theres a red crease under my right pec, that is from all the weight that use to sag there right?  Will these creases go away with time?
And I have no idea on my body fat, but I know its above 20%

Folds of skin while over weight are a form of scar. How they evolve during weight loss depend on many factor. For my patients with such concerns I recommend Scar Care and Second Stage Compression Garments. Scars that evolve under pressure do better than scars without pressure. However, there is no proof that such intervention really helps since it is difficult to ask a patient to massage only one side, or apply pressure to only ones side and document the before and after evolution.

Thanks,
