Hi Dr's.

Once again, so many thanks for this site. It's been of constant help to me before and after surgery.

I'm now 3 weeks post op - Bi-lateral subcutaneous mastectomy. It's going well, slow, but I'm getting there. I've always been a slow healer but very pleased with the results and I'd recommend surgery for anyone with gyne.

I'm so motivated to watch my diet so those things don't grow back.

I'm 6ft3 and 182lbs (13 stone) so my weight is good for my height but want to do as much as possible to prevent re-occurance of the gyne.

Are there any foods I should avoid?

Also, I am not a drinker but when I do go out I only drink lager, Carling or Fosters etc. Is there any evidence to suggest that beer causes oestrogen levels to rise thus risking the old male boob problem again? I don't drink much, just 2 pints or so about once a month.

Would really appreciate your advice here. Many thanks.

There are no foods that are known to cause gyne -- either primarily or after surgery.  Same too with moderate alcohol.

Your weight/height numbers are excellent -- as long as you keep your weight down, you should not put any fat on your chest.
