Paa paw-  I have been to multiple endocrinologists and none have had any useful info.  Also, its been over 8 months..i think its time for me to take some type of action.  I haven't touched any drugs in 8 months, so i feel as if my body has something with it.  The tissue is spreading everywhere...chest, sides, back...and even on my arms a bit. ..

If I am understanding your correctly, The breast area is actively expanding at this time. And, You have been to several Endocrinologists who have found nothing wrong.

Well, Something must be stimulating that increase in size and I don't know of any surgeons who will operate on the breast when it is actively growing and expect a good outcome.

The cause of the growth has either been missed or you are becoming obsessive about it and it only seems to be increasing in size. You need one Doctor who will take some measurements, pictures, and follow up with you over time.

The only thing of which I am sure is that we cannot be totally objective about this ourselves. You need to have a Doctor follow up.

If your condition is stabilized (which I suspect to be the case) Then your only problem is selecting a Surgeon.

Paw paa-  you know, I really wish you were right...but it's not the case.  :(
I have taken pictures almost every month or so, and the change is visible.  My nipples still get rock hard everyday, and my body tingles when it grows.  It drives me crazy.

I know one person on this board (used to be on this board, he's prob not active anymore) that had the procedure because it had been growing for 2 years without any (known) hormonal imbalance.  It's the only thing I can think of doing now.  It is really affecting my whole life and I need a way out!!

I am going to the doctor...AGAIN (endo) on Monday.  So, we're going to discuss surgery options.  I'll update everyone.

It's been 8 months since my gynecomastia growth started.  I took a prohormone, and it was the biggest mistake of my life.  my gyno is still growing all the way to this very day, and I have been through so many doctors and 2 endocrinologists.

I just had my visit with the endocrinologist the other day, and he sat down with me, and ALL of my hormone levels were normal and within range.  Even the ones that USED to be a little high a couple months ago.

He told that he would refer me to a surgeon in the area, and that insurance will most likely cover the procedure bc there is no reason for it be growing, it causes me depression, and it is affecting my daily life.  He also wrote down that the gyno is causing me physical pain.  it does (a little), but not excruciating by any means.

My question:  If I get this done, will it stop the growth? My hormone levels are completely normal (the tests say so anyway), and I haven't touched anything hormonal in 8 months.  I can't handle this much longer.  It bugs the heck out of me having my nipples harden up and having my chest/side/back tingle with growth all the time...

Also, is it possible for breast tissue to grow on my lats/back?  I assume its new fat cells growing...

You are asking questions that are clearly beyond me.

This is why I have been so adamant about having ongoing treatment/followup by a single Doctor who has some knowledge of your condition.

Could Gynecomastia cause enlargement in a place other than the usual breast location? Possibly yes, but it would usually be along the milk line (you'll have to look that up) where supernumerary nipples would be likely. To have such enlargement elsewhere would seem highly improbable. I would think that there would be some irregularity of the skin (an underdeveloped nipple) as well. I really do not know what is going on with you.

The important thing, in my opinion, is that you have seen the appropriate Dr. and that you have what would seem to be an appropriate referral.

Other common causes of localized enlargement such as swollen lymph notes or cysts would seem to have been ruled out by your Dr.s long before now.

I keep coming back to "I don't Know," at some point you'll simply have to put your faith in your Dr. and just go from there.

Paa paw - It's really strange, I know. And thats what drives me crazy.  All the cases of gyno are "lump under nipple", and I have that, and some more.  And I don't think/know if the extra tissue that isn't the hard gland is "breast" tissue...or whatever..

It has a chunky feel to it.  Like...If i squeeze it, it feels like small "balls" or "globs" of something.  This is what worries me, bc I don't know if this extra tissue is easily removable.

I don't think all breast tissue has to be in the form of a hard knot of tissue. In my case particularly, there really wasn't a hard lump to speak of, but more like a diffuse network of fiber like tissue. This tissue extended under my armpits, much as it sounds like yours does. I had more side boob (ha!) than I did anything else. Anyway, I hope you can get this sorted out as I know exactly how you feel!

PBC - did you have it removed??  and how was the procedure/scarring different from normal gyno surgery?

Yes I had it removed. It was no different than any other gyne surgery. My doctor said it is fairly common to have glandular tissue that radiates outward from the breast itself and into adjacent areas such as the armpits and possibly even further towards the back.
