Hi, I'm a new member here. Been lurking around for some time, however did not come around to posting. But my surgery date's set in Oct and I'm feeling a lil nervous. Located in Singapore and did some research on my attending doctor. I will be getting the gland excision as per normal using the areolar incision, however it seems that my doctor is involved in a new technique of gynecomastia removal using a microdebrider.

The published paper is here:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19147420

The video of the procedure:
http://www.microflap.com/video3.asp

Is this something new? Apparently, the procedure was 100% successfull with no hematomas or seromas encountered. Should I ask my doctor regarding this technique or is it still experimental? It seems that only a 3mm incision was made and nothing else.

May I know the PS? Is he from SGH?
How much did he quoted since I am from Singapore?
Or should I pm you instead?
Thanks.

Yeah, SGH. I was quoted roughly about $2500 since it's classified as "Medical", instead of "Cosmetic". If you wanna talk more about it, email me at abdrah@hotmail.sg

Regards.
