Thank you Rocky 76. 10% --- that's one hell of a goal. It's gonna be tough, but I hope I can make it. At that point, I guess I'll have to go for surgery.

Can you please elaborate about your "after effects" of surgery?

Bottom line is you can do it and you don't need hope. Losing weight and seeing where your at is something you can Safety Control.

Getting surgery is out of your hands and in the hands of the Dr. as well as some luck as to the final outcome. It is a much higher risk. I'd happily take the "one hell of a goal" be healthier and minimize the risk/need all which I can control before getting surgery any day. For all you know you may be able to rid most of it or enough were it's not an issue if it turns out to be mostly fat.  25% fat to me is way to much so don't sugar coat it in your mind. It is not a healthy normal percentage imho.

Also if it turns out you do need surgery after the weight loss and being in shape the procedure will go a lot better for you and be less complicated. IMHO to do it any other way is insane.

Good luck.

i dont see why people are advising just to hammer the gym, its a not a fix and it will just make you look out of proportion. Anyone whos ever seriously trained will know how easy it is to lose muscle tone after even a month hiatus. Injuries will occur and youl be knackered the way i look at it is

£4k for surgery. Done dusted
1000's hours of time that could be used to get a second job, £100's on supplements every few months. £600 a year for a gym membership

every thread ive seen on here with lads who've hammered the gym and in my eyes still look like theyve got breast tissue! and what happens when they stop training? Back to square one, great! If your overweight yea lose weight its good for you. But if your planning to weight lift to hide the gland then your wasting your time.

You have completely missed the point. Until one get's back in shape they may have a hard time knowing how much is pseudo or real. If they need surgery or not. Also losing the weight can help minimize the surgery needed. I clearly mention in earlier posts. True Gynecomastia (like I had) can not be "worked out" away. Being closest to a healthy fit weight can only help in the decision and or outcome of the surgery.

From working out/dieting I was able to lose all the fat on my chest and ended up having gyno on one side only, although I looked completely out of proportion on one side it was a relief to see it on one side only and the size of it. Your gyno will become more visible when your work out since it is pushed out by your pectoral muscles so you should aim for surgery in the future. I was able to get a clear idea of what surgery would do for me aswell as cutting down costs by half.
