Hello, I just joined the site and think it is great that there are others out there going through the same thing as me, but it would be alot better if none of us were going through with this.

Anyways I am 17 years old and feel as though I do have gyne for about the past 5 years.  At first I thought it could have been puberty but now that thought is fading away very fast.  I am not overweight, but am not skinny, I have just a little bit of fat on me.  I have been working out for about 2 years now but yet my nipples never got smaller and are never hard, instead they are soft except when in a cold room and what not.  I told my mom about this and she just laughs it off, even though I am very serious.  My brother also has soft nipples, can this be hereditery?  I did go to a skin doctor and asked him  but he also said I didn't have gyne., but that room was very cold and he was not a gyne. doctor.  When I go outside, especially warm days my areola don't have a  nipple they just puff.

Please can someone tell me if I have any sign of gyne.

  • Wilma, grab the lotion, we're going to the beach!
Show some pics.

If a dr said you don't have gyne, that's pretty strong reason for your mom to think you're nuts.

I'm not saying I agree with your mom, only that I know why she feels the way she does.

Go see a plastic surgeon and get a 2nd opinion.

Show mom this site.

It's difficult to tell from this pic. Try posting one which shows more of your body.

Hi I stumbled on this page after seeing a documentary on discovery health on gynecomastia.  I am wondering if i have gyne but it is hard to tell because of my weight issue(age 15 and 270lb) could you please tell me some other symptoms of it(ill try to get a pic).  I do have a tenderness if my nipples are pressed in or if something hits my chest, if that happens i have great pain. :P please help me
I have gyne that is caused by Fat not the gland, but it is still hard with my life.

  • Thank you Fielding
It's gyne.  Go and get a professional opinion and take your mom with you if you have to.  State where you're located because some of the guys might be able to give you names on who you should be seeing.

tiverty-a, I don't think blitz was responding to you... but to the original poster.

In regards to yourself, you would definitely need to lose some weight, as I don't think many surgeons would be willing to operate on you at such a weight... it would be in your best interests to lose some weight first.

tiverty, ur primary concern should be your weight bro, alot of overweight people just have it... not that i know as much as other people here tho but i've noticed it and ive also noticed alot 2 or 3 of my friends who used to have it when they were fat trim down, and lose it... so hopefully its just a weight thing... it sucks being skinny and having them  :-/

My advice is keep working hard... no matter what you will eventually see the scale slide. Once you see some results you will be even more encouraged to continue. In my opinion, the first few pounds you lose are the most important and encourage you to keep going... so just try and lose those first few pounds!
