Hello.

I am very concern about the possibility of being aware but paralyzed during a surgery. There was a movie about this not too long ago I think it was called " awake"

I have heard one of the ways to prevent this is something called a BIS monitor that will measure your brain activity to make sure that you are actually under. I think it will also make sure that you are not too far under either.

Is this BIS monitor common in operating rooms this day and age or do only a few places still use this?

Thanks.
