Hi guys I'm 25 with gynecomastia and my question is this.

I weigh 220lb and I'm 5'10 so I am significantly overweight. Should I diet and build muscle before I get the surgery and and get to like 170lb or does it really not make a difference for th surgeon? Will th surgeon most likely do a better job at removing the gland because there is less fat?  by the way this website is amazing.

Yeah, getting to a lower weight is overall better. You will look better after the surgery and it may be less complicated for the surgeon. But, make sure you get an experienced surgeon so you can get the best outcome.

Research fat distribution in men. Even if you suffer from significant glandular tissue, it's possible that you can improve the contour of your chest by losing weight (if you're overweight). It's not likely a silver bullet, but losing weight before surgery is preferable.
